28 year old Shubhankar Sharma, has made 17 of 20 cuts on the 2024 European Tour and last week in Ireland, after a tough opening round of 75, Sharma fired back with a scorching 65 in the second round, rocketing 107 spots up the leaderboard to comfortably make the cut at 2-under, four strokes clear of the cutline and keep his cuts made streak alive. He finished poorly on the weekend with rounds of 76-72 , ending 42nd, earning $34,000 for the week.
This season, Sharma has made only two top-10’s but has still accumulated $720,000 in earnings, leaving him at 49th on the European Tour, slightly behind last year’s career earnings of $989,000. With 8 weeks still to go, including the US $9 million BMW PGA Championship from September 19-22 in England, Sharma is chasing the one breakthrough performance to surpass his previous best season total and secure his place at the season ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
His current stroke average of 70.73 is just a shade behind his career-best of 70.35 from 2021, underscoring his steady play.
