Jeev Milkha’s third place finish is his best till date on the Senior Tour

Veteran star pro Jeev Milkha Singh, who turned 50 last December, signalled his intentions by shooting 70-73-67 to finish tied 3rd at the US$ 315,000 WINSTONgolf Senior Open in Germany.

Singh will now head to Scotland to play the US$2.5 million Senior Open presented by Rolex, a major and jointly sanctioned between the American Champion’s Tour and the European Legends Tour for players over age 50, this week at Gleneagles.

Over the course of his career, Singh has played in all four men’s majors with a best finish of ninth at the 2008 PGA Championship. Singh has also won four times on the European Tour and the Japan tour. He has received the Arjuna Award and Padma Shri for his achievements. His performance on the Senior Tour will be watched with great interest. 

Delhi veteran pro Gaurav Ghei who has also turned 50, last week played a warm up senior pro event in Thailand, will try to qualify for The Senior Open this week in an 18 hole qualifier in Scotland.
