Two-time Olympian Anirban Lahiri, who was the only Indian and first Asian to join the rebel LIV Golf Tour in 2022, concluded his 2024 season with notable and consistent performances. Finishing 16th in the season-long rankings, Lahiri secured earnings totaling $5.7 million, ensuring his place for the 2025 season—his fourth consecutive year on the LIV Golf Tour.
Throughout the year, Lahiri demonstrated his competitive edge with four top-10 finishes. His most remarkable performance was at LIV Golf Andalucia, where he narrowly missed clinching the title, finishing as runner-up after a playoff against 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia.
In addition to his individual successes, Lahiri played a pivotal role as a member of Crushers GC, contributing to the team’s strong performances throughout the season led by captain and defending U.S. Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau. The Crushers won the 2023 Team Championship in Miami and has five total team victories. 2024 was a banner year for the team with three victories in Jeddah, Hong Kong, and Chicago, and four podium finishes.
Looking ahead, Lahiri is set to be a central figure in the upcoming International Series India, scheduled from January 30 to February 2, 2025, at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram. This event, backed by the Asian Tour and LIV Golf, marks a significant milestone as it brings a defending major champion to compete on Indian soil for the first time. With a prize purse of $2 million, the tournament is poised to elevate the profile of golf in India, and Lahiri’s participation is expected to inspire and attract massive crowds.
