Henrik Stenson is the latest signee with LIV Golf

LIV Golf continues to be the hottest story in World Golf with every passing week sending new tremors through the golfing establishment. As the space heats up, we continue to bring our readers the latest significant developments. 

Next event – The 3rd LIV Golf event is set to be played at Trump National  in Bedminster, New Jersey from July 29-31 and the rest of the schedule of these US$25 million prize money events announced are: 

  • Boston. September 02 – 04. The International
  • Chicago. September 16 – 18. Rich Harvest Farms
  • Bangkok. October 07 – 09. Stonehill
  • Jeddah. October 14 – 16. Royal Greens Golf & Country Club
  • Miami. October 27 – 30. Trump National Doral Miami

Jason Kokrak will feature at LIV Golf’s next event in Bedminster

New Signees – Three new stars to join LIV Golf since its 2nd event in Oregon are American Jason Kokrak, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, and European Ryder Cup stars England’s Paul Casey, also a three-time winner on the PGA Tour  and Swede Henrik Stenson, the 2016 British Open Champion who was named 2023 European Ryder Cup Team captain. Stenson was subsequently swiftly and categorically stripped of the Ryder Cup captaincy by the European Tour.

Broadcasting Team: LIV Golf is hiring Legendary commentator and former Ryder Cup player David Feherty who is known for his sharp and entertaining wit, Charles Barkley, an 11-time NBA All Star and Gary Mccord, a two-time winner on the senior tour who is renowned for his handlebar moustache, out of the box humour and insight. 

Women Too ?  Greg Norman (CEO, LIV Golf) is confident that a women’s LIV Golf league is in the cards for the future.

Responding to that, the LPGA Tour commissioner said that she would be open to a conversation with Norman if joining the league would promote and grow women’s golf.

LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan is open to talk with LIV for partnership

“It’s my responsibility to evaluate every opportunity,” LPGA’s  Marcoux Samaan said. “I would engage in a conversation if it would achieve our aim of promoting women’s golf, but there needs to be input from players and sponsors. There’s a lot of factors to consider before we do business with LIV Golf.”

Who’s next ?  Rumours of next signees include recent British Open winner Cameron Smith of Australia and Japanese superstar and 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama.

Other names doing the round include Aussie stars Adam Scott, the 2013 Masters champion &  Marc Leishman and 2012 & 2014 Masters winner Bubba Watson of USA.

Team Sponsors – Since LIV Golf’s business model has been questioned, Norman has announced that various sponsors are in negotiations to put big money to buy the various teams playing LIV Golf including an all-Australian team that would include Cam Smith, Adam Scott, Marc Leishman and one of the other Aussies.
