Anirban Lahiri recorded a pair of 63’s on the weekend to help his team The Crushers win the lucrative team prize at LIV Golf South Africa. His overall scores of 69-69-63-63 helped him finish T-9 at 20 under 264 at Steyn City.
Anirban’s team captain Bryson DeChambeau claimed his second consecutive individual title, closing with a 65 and defeating Jon Rahm in a playoff. A crucial 3 wood from the rough on the par 5 18th set up the winning birdie in the playoff as DeChambeau secured his fifth LIV Golf title.
In the team event, Lahiri’s Crushers GC delivered a strong performance to win at 76 under, edging home favourites Southern Guards GC by one shot. The South African side is led by major winner Louis Oosthuizen.
The LIV Golf League now heads to Mexico for its sixth event of the season from April 16 to 19.
