Simarjeet Singh, the current all india mid-amateur national champion and winner of multiple national titles, who has represented India for many years,  has been elected last week as the President of Noida GC in a rare instance of a  top level international player being elected president of a major Indian golf club.

As examples of the few other international players who have been elected to top posts at clubs, in 2000, former double Asian games gold medalist Lakshman Singh was elected captain of RCGC and currently former international Manjit singh is serving a 2nd term as president of Delhi GC. In contrast most clubs have no international golfers on their committees and even the current Indian Golf Union council has no stipulation to include players with international competitive experience.
