With the 2023 PGTI seeing hugely increased purses which have virtually doubled from 2022, there is increasing interest in turning professional and joining the tour. We have seen a trend of Indians who were playing smaller tours in USA coming to play in India. The tour will be likely to attract more foreign players other than the usual contingent of Sri Lankans, Bangladeshi and Nepali pros who have played in India for years.

Hence there is bound to be considerable interest in the PGTI Qualifying which has now been announced at the Golmuri Golf Course in Jamshedpur from January 24 to February 9, 2024.

The 2023 Qualifying started in Jamshedpur and the Final Stage was played at Tollygunge Club in Kolkata, but this year, both stages are being held in Jamshedpur.

The tournament is played in two stages – Pre-Qualifying & Final stage. Roughly 300 golfers competed in 2023 at the pre-qualifying, with 80 advancing to the final stage. There they are joined for four rounds by the pros who finished outside the top-60 on the previous year’s Order of Merit.
