Olympian, and with 7 years on the PGA Tour under his belt, Anirban Lahiri secured his best finish on the International Series – a tied-fifth finish at the International Series Qatar, at 8-under-par. The 36-year-old carded rounds of 69-73-68-70 at the $2.5 million event held at Doha Golf Club, in Qatar. This marks Lahiri’s best performance in four International Series appearances this season.
The former PGA Tour player and current LIV Golf Tour member, representing Crushers GC under Bryson DeChambeau, leveraged the Asian Tour’s platform to earn some Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points. With LIV Golf events ineligible for OWGR points, the Asian Tour’s International Series has become a vital platform for LIV players to try to retain global rankings.
- Lahiri competed in 13 LIV Golf events this year, highlighted by a runner-up finish in Spain and three additional top-10 placements. He ranked 16th in the overall LIV standings, securing his playing rights automatically for the upcoming season.
The next best-placed Indian, 11-time Asian Tour winner Gaganjeet Bhullar finished T19 with a 4-under score of 70-68-69-77 after a rough final round. Bhullar is currently placed 30th on the international Series rankings and 48th on the Asian Tour rankings, compared to his 3rd rank finish in 2023.
PGTI domestic No. 1 rankings leader Veer Ahlawat ended his week T37 at 1-under-par. Currently, he is placed at 100th in the International Series rankings and 84th in the Asian Tour rankings.How other Indian golfers fared:
