Shalini Malik to referee at the upcoming Women’s Open at Walton Heath

Delhi’s experienced referee Shalini Malik has been accepted as the first Indian female member by the prestigious Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, an honour for the Delhi girl who started as a junior golfer at Delhi GC before playing competitively and  has refereed at several international events over the past 15 years including the Women’s British Open.

This year too she has been invited to referee at the upcoming Women’s British Open at Walton Heath in England. Apart from Ladies European Tour events she has been a referee at one Men’s Open Championship, three AIG Women’s Opens and was to go to the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 but could not make it due to visa issues.

With a few other Indian lady referees and several lady coaches already active in India, we hope this inspires other Indian ladies to make their careers in golf.
