Shubhankar once again had a great start to the 2024 season

27-year-old Shubhankar Sharma, of Chandigarh, made a strong start to his 7th consecutive season on the DP World Tour (the European Tour), with steady rounds of 72-71-70-70, to finish tied-16th finish at the US$ 9 million Hero Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates GC.
Sharma added to his season earnings with a cheque of US$ 121,902.

In both 2023 and 2022, Sharma has opened his season strongly with lofty finishes in the UAE, particularly doing well at the HSBC Abu Dhabi Classic but has thereafter cooled off.
This year – his favourite event has been pushed back to November, just prior to the season ending DP World Championship.

This week Sharma is participating in the US$ 2.5 million Ras Al Khaimah Championship where he is accompanied by fellow Indian OP Chouhan. Chouhan, earned his place on the European Tour through ending the 2023 PGTI season as No 1 thanks to four victories, including a Challenge Tour event in Bangalore, accumulating prize money over 1 crore Indian rupees, the first player to surpass this financial milestone playing the domestic tour.
