Women’s Pro Golf :-
Jahanvi Bakshi
18-year-old Jahanvi Bakshi of Gurgaon held her nerve for a one stroke victory over 15 year old Bangalore amateur Avani Prashanth after shooting 73-70-74 (1-over 217) at the tough DLF Golf & CC on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour.
Previously in March, Jahanvi had won her first pro title at DLF while shooting 4-under 212 to beat Vani Kapoor by four strokes.
With this win, the two Bakshi sisters have notched up three wins within nine months of turning pro.
Avani Prashanth
Making waves was the long hitting 15-year-old amateur Avani Prashanth who bogeyed the final hole playing alongside Jahanvi, to miss out on her second title. Avani has trained under British coach Laurence Brotheridge when he was stationed at the Leadbetter Golf Academy in Pune till the start of the pandemic in 2020.
The Hero WPGT made its return after five months and will now be headed to Golden Greens Golf Club for its eighth leg from Sep. 7-10 in a three week Gurgaon swing.
