Vidhatri Urs with Category A and Overall trophies at HGA in Hyderabad
17-year-old Vidhatri Urs, cousin of 2022 WGAI No. 1 pro player, Pranavi Urs, shot three consecutive rounds of 68-68-68 (6-under 204) to win the IGU’s Telangana Ladies & Junior Girls Championship at Hyderabad Golf Association ( HGA).
Her 12-under 204 helped her clinch not only the Category A title but also the overall title in Category A, B & Ladies by four-strokes over Mannat Brar of Chandigarh who shot 74-67-67 (2-under 208) for a runners-up finish at the tournament.
Zara Anand – Winner Category B
Meanwhile, 14 year old Zara Anand, who recently finished 6th in the R&A Junior Girls Championship in Scotland took another Category B title with a solid 3 day performance of 67-73-70 (Even par total).
The scores could have been even better were it not for the greens at HGA having been recently cored and undergoing seasonal maintenance which made the putting surfaces a bit bumpy.
A total of 50 girls participated in four different categories – Ladies, A, B & C.
