Tennis legend Vijay Amritraj was on hand this week to inspire junior golfers in Bangalore as the Leela Palace Bengaluru recently hosted its second annual golf tournament at the Karnataka Golf Association on January 30, 2024. Following the success of the inaugural event in 2023, the 18-hole tournament, organized in collaboration with KGA Junior Golf Development and Golf Foundation, attracted a diverse group of participants, ranging from budding talents to seasoned professionals. Over 30 children from various backgrounds showcased their golfing skills. 

Madhav Sehgal, Area Vice President – South India, The Leela Palaces Hotels and Resorts, expressed excitement about creating a platform to inspire and celebrate young golfers. Tennis legend Vijay Amritraj, associated with the tournament for the second year, commended The Leela’s efforts to nurture Indian golfing talent, foreseeing a positive impact on identifying and supporting budding players.

The legendary Vijay Amritraj ceremonially kicked off the tournament, embodying the values of resilience and sportsmanship.

9 – 11 Years:

Winner: Aida Thimmaiah 28 Pts

Winner: Jashan Ganapathy 35 Pts

Runner-up: Prem Muniyappa 30 Pts

Winner: Veer Ganapathy 34 Pts
