The girls at the R&A camp in Thailand
The R&A, in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), recently conducted a training camp for 13 leading lady amateurs at the Siam Country Club in Pattaya, Thailand, including India’s top Lady Amateurs – 15-year-old Zara Anand of Delhi and Pune’s 17-year-old Mannat Brar, the highest-ranked Indian at the Ladies European Tour’s Hero Women’s Indian Open (HWIO) earlier this year.
Camp participants included 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior and U.S. Women’s Amateur Champion Rianne Malixi of Philippines, and Malayasian Mirabel Ting who is ranked among the top 10 Women Amateurs in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
The camp served as a platform to groom and fine-tune their skills and should serve them well in the coming tournaments which culminates with the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP), slated for March 6-9, 2025, at Hoiana Shores in Vietnam.
