Aryan Strikes Gold In Singapore
17-year-old Mysore golfer Aryan Roopa Anand emerged as overall Boys champion and won the gold medal at the Singapore Junior Golf Championship held at Kepple Club from June 24-27.
Anand shot rounds of 80, 72, and 72 for a total score of 222 to claim the title with two-strokes over home favourite Sean Lee. His achievement is special as he is the first Indian gold winner in Singapore in over 19 years. The last Indian winners of Singapore Juniors were Gurbaz Mann and Ashok Kumar in 2000.
In all, 30 players tried their luck in Aryan’s category. Aryan had a total of eight birdies in his three rounds. On the second day, his card of 70 also fetched the day’s best gross award in the Boys 15-17 category.

Bhati teamed up to win the boys’ team event as India B, with a cumulative 307. They emerged well ahead of the Malaysian Golf Association (Marcus Lim/Nor Harith Nor Hadi, 311) and the National Golf Association of the Philippines (Masachi Otake/John Edward Dy, 312) teams.
Prarthana wins IGU North Zone Feeder Tour
Prarthana Khanna is just 10 years old, but her achievements are far beyond her age. Prarthana recently emerged as the winner in Category D of IGU’s fifth event on the Feeder Tour held at AEPTA, New Delhi from July 15-17.
Prarthana shot rounds of 80 and 86 each to set her winning score at 166, against the par set at 144. Her category saw 8 girls and 9 boys participate in the event.
Bhati wins Junior World Golf Championship
India’s 15-year-old junior golfer Arjun Bhati defeated Jeremy Chen to win the FCG Callaway Junior World Championship 2019 in Palm Desert, California.
Out of 637 golfers from 40 countries that participated in the tournament, Arjun secured the first position with a total of 199-strokes in the three-day final. He was followed by Chen and New Zealand’s Joshua Bai — at second and third positions with 202 and 207 strokes respectively.
“I gave my best and played my game as I wanted to win this championship for my country. I want to be the No.1 golfer in the world. My aim is to win an Olympic Gold for India,” said an elated Bhati.
Just last month, the talented golfer landed support from the Virat Kohli
Foundation for his golfing journey.
Anika wins in Sacramento
15-year-old Noida golfer Anika Varma won big at the 51st Sacramento County Junior Championships held at Cherry Island Golf Course in Elverta. The tournament was played from Jun 25-26.
Anika Varma (Girls 15-18) shot a 3 under par total of 141 (71, 70) to win the Overall Girls championship. It is notable that her game has been improving continuously and these results are just solid proof of that. Previously on June 17, she qualified for the 71st US Girls’ Junior Championship scheduled at SentryWorld, Stevens Point, Wisconsin from July 22-27 and moved ahead until the round of 32 where she lost to Nicole Whiston of California.
