“India has already produced players who have won on the PGA Tour and European Tour and I know Sir Nick believes it won’t be long before the country is celebrating its first male and female Major champions. We hope the Faldo Series can continue to be an important stepping stone for India’s leading juniors on their way to the professional game,” Faldo said.

Pranavi was understandably eager, “I’m excited to play the Asia Final again this year and hope to win this time and progress to the world final. Also, I am contemplating on joining the professional ranks since the Women’s Professional Golf Tour of India has recently dropped their age qualification to 16 years. Looking forward to taking my game to the next level.”

Faldo Series is played in 30 countries across six continents. In India, it is sanctioned by Indian Golf Union and open to the country’s top-ranked juniors. Winners are eligible for World Amateur Golf Ranking points. Faldo Series champions in the past include major winner Rory McIlroy. Indians have tasted success too: Arjun Prasad won the Asia Final in 2015, Abhijit Chadha in 2011 and two-time Asian Tour winner won in 2007 and 2009.
