1666 days, that is how many days 40-year-old Matt Kuchar had to remain winless for his eighth victory on the PGA TOUR at the $7,200,000 Mayakoba Golf Classic at El Camaleon Golf Club, Mexico.

Kuchar posted a total score of 22-under 262 en route to his one-stroke win over New Zealand golfer Danny Lee and earned $1,296,000 for his efforts. His last win on the Tour came at the 2014 RBC Heritage on April 20.

This win saw him posting his best winning score, his previous best of 19-under 269 came at his maiden win at the 2002 Honda Classic.

His best performances in 2018 include:

T-5: Waste Management Phoenix Open

T-8: Houston Open

T-9: US Open

With the win, Kuchar moved to World No. 29 on the Official World Golf Rankings.

Interestingly enough former World No.1 Lee Westwood won after over four years on the European Tour, yesterday, at Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa and even his last win came on April 20, 2014, at Maybank Malaysian Open with a massive 7-strokes over Nicolas Colsaerts, Louis Oosthuizen and Bernd Wiesberger.

Indian ace golfer Anirban Lahiri too made the news when he co-lead the field for a while on Saturday but dropped to T-8, and finally managed to finish T-10 at the event with a total score of 16-under 268 alongside Cameron Champ, Canadian golfer Adam Hadwin, Aaron Wise, and South Korean Whee Kim.

Lahiri earned $165,000 for this and climbed to 81st from 180th on the Official Money List for the 2019 season on the PGA TOUR. Lahiri moved to 131 from 142nd on the Official World Golf Rankings.
