The 20th edition of the Madhavrao Scindia Golf Tournament was hosted last week at its permanent home, the DLF Golf & CC in Gurgaon, on Nov. 5th and again welcomed 100 corporate and business leaders, who competed for the two prestigious invitations given to the winners to the Duke of Edinburgh Cup World Finals at Windsor Castle, London.
To add an element of fun, pros Sneha Singh and Seher Atwal, ranked No 1 and No 2 on the Hero Women’s pro golf tour of India were stationed on two of the par threes where players enjoyed the option of using their tee shots.
The Madhavrao Scindia Golf Tournament raises funds for education and medical care of underprivileged families in the Gwalior region, and every year also supports one promising young Indian pro golfer.
This year the foundation awarded a Rs 5 lacs grant to 18 year old Sneha Singh, who recently obtained her LPGA Epson Tour card in the USA following completion of two stages of gruelling LPGA qualifying tournaments in the past two months.
Past recipients of grants include Diksha Dagar, Pranavi Urs, Chikkarangappa, Rashid Khan and others at the start of their professional careers.
