Hero WPGT to return next month

An interesting announcement for women golfers in India, the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour to return in action starting December 1st, after a hiatus of over nine months.

The Women’s Pro Tour, which conducts around 15 events in a given year, experienced a halt to its ongoing schedule on March 13th due to COVID-19,  after the conclusion of its sixth event of the season at Classic Golf & Country Club, Gurugram.

The return will mark a total gap of over 263 days and the tour plans to play three more events to conclude its season.

Vani Kapoor – The 2020 OOM Leader

Vani Kapoor, India’s ace player with 28 domestic wins, was able to claim the top spot on the Order of Merit with one win in five events she played in and earnings of ₹4,91,000 and is closely followed by Amandeep Drall at ₹4,21,400 with matching results of one win in five events. Interestingly, Vani Kapoor even holds the record of topping the Merit list for three consecutive years, 2014, 2015 & 2016.
