14-year-old Kartik Singh, the youngest ranked Indian on the WAGR is all set to play the 3rd edition of the Selangor International Juniors from June 12-15 at Seri Selangor Golf Club in Kuala Lumpur. 

Kartik will be joined by seven other Indian Juniors in Selangor including Pritish Karayat, Harman Sachdeva, Devin Singh, Kashika Mishra, Anvvi Dahhiya, Nishna Patel & Lakshit Siddabathula. 

Last year, Kartik finished 2nd with rounds of 69-74-70 just behind Jacob Cajita of Philippines who made 3 putts from more than 30 feet on the last 3 holes to keep Kartik at bay.. 

As a result of his win, Jacob earned a spot to play the Asian Tour’s ADT event that followed but in a show of true sportsmanship, Jacob offered his spot to Kartik who went to to miss the cut with rounds of  74-78.

The tournament is due to feature more than 100 players under age 19 belonging to the national teams from 10 countries including Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, China, Indonesia, etc. Several players boast plus handicaps like Kartik’s +2.3 which means they are expected to shoot sub par scores more often than not.
