Vidhatri Urs defeated Zara Anand in the finals for the All India Ladies title
17-year-old Vidhatri Urs of Mysore, beat 15 year old Zara Anand of Delhi by 2 & 1 to win the 109th All India Ladies Amateur title at Poona Golf Club last week.
During the stroke play segment, Vidhatri impressively shot 71-71, claiming the top position and earning the prestigious Billoo Sethi Trophy. Zara secured the second position in the stroke play, setting the stage for a series of elimination rounds and eventually an exciting match play final.
In the 36 hole championship clash, Vidhatri dominated for most of the match, gaining a significant 3-up advantage at one point. Despite Zara’s resilient efforts, she remained 3-down after the halfway stage of 18 holes. Zara managed to narrow the deficit to two with two holes remaining, but a halved hole on the 35th ultimately sealed the victory in Vidhatri’s favour.
