The second COVID wave takes its toll

Golf Courses in Mumbai and Pune took the drastic step of shutting down operations in early April following the sudden spike in Covid cases, sending shock waves through the golf industry which has enjoyed good times in the past 8-9 months. 

Tournaments also saw disruption including the Indian Golf Union (IGU’s junior and amateur tournaments which left many parents stranded considering the youngsters lose out on valuable world ranking points and a chance to be selected for international competitions. 

The affected IGU tournaments include –
