SYLVANIA, OHIO – JULY 14: Aditi Ashok of India looks on from the 18th green during the second round of the Dana Open

Aditi Ashok, who,  having gained 25 yards with her driver during the off season, continues to break her own career records this season by keeping her name on leaderboards week after week on the super competitive LPGA Tour, turned in another impressive performance with rounds of 66-70-67-69 (12-under 272) to finish tied seventh in the US$ 1.75 mn Dana Open in Ohio.

Ashok picked up US$ 41,949 (₹34.4 lacs) and is currently  23rd on the tour’s Official Money List with earnings of US$ 646,044 (₹5.3 crores). She also features in the top 10 of the Ladies European Tour money list, having recorded one victory, a 2nd and a 3rd place finish there at the start of the season. Her combined earnings on both tours have already exceeded a career record US$1 million.

So far this year, Ashok has made nine cuts in twelve tournaments on the LPGA Tour, with five top-10 finishes. Her driving was particularly strong last week as she hit an impressive 50 out of 56 fairways. She putted well, as she generally does, posting an average of 29 putts per round.

Ashok will be part of the three-member Asian Games Indian ladies team, alongside amateur Avani Prashanth and 19-year-old Pranavi Urs. Given her current form, Ashok is a strong medal prospect for India which could give another boost to the game in India, just as her 4th place finish at the Tokyo Olympics did.

Aditi will now head to Michigan for the US$ 2.7mn Dow Great Lakes Invitational this week.
