17 year old amateur Sneha Singh of Hyderabad, already a three-time winner on the Hero Pro Golf Tour (Hero WPGT) shot 66-77-70 to register a four stroke win over 15 year old Avani Prashanth of Bangalore at Indian Golf Union’s (IGU) Western India Ladies & Junior Girls Championship at the fabulous Jack Nicklaus signature design Kalhaar Blues & Greens in Ahmedabad. 

Sneha took the overall ladies and Category A junior title by a margin of 10 strokes from Hunar Mittal while Avani shot 71-75-71 (217) to take the Category B title by a margin of 12 strokes over Keerthana Rajeev.

The two girls are going to make up perhaps India’s strongest challenge till date when they play the Women’s Asia Pacific Amateur in Dubai this November, where the winner gets invites into two women’s majors and the Augusta Women’s Amateur next March. 

In Category C, 13-year-old Prarthana Khanna of New Delhi shot a total score of 239 for a 11-stroke win over Anuradha Chaudhuri at 250.

The tournament saw participation from 40 girls in Ladies, A, B & C categories.
